The little team that is- not was.

It is obviously a case of the rich kids against the poor kids. In other words, it is the battle between the Canadian dudes and the American dudes.

Ville Nieminen, one of the Finnish Calgary Flamers, was suspended for a full Stanley Cup Playoff game. It seems to me that the NHL is rooting against the Calgary Flames while the rest of the country is rooting for them. It's obvious all the decisions were made in New York, not Toronto- therefore- the Americans are running the show. Are we surprised?

And now for a small editorial moment from our friends at ESPN from the south:
"Regarding the poor, persecuted Flames, the little team from Canada against the world, excuse me while I laugh out loud. If there's anything sustainable about the rhetoric surrounding this series so far it's that Sutter is playing that card so far beyond the high-roller limit he would be booted out of Las Vegas. Unfortunately for hockey, however, there are huge numbers of Canadians who believe this stuff."

That just reinforces the fact that the Americans think us Canucks are a bunch of hicks with nothing better to do with our time than complain about how unfair everything is for us. But ladies and gents, that discussion is for another time. Ooh but I could go on about it so bad right now! Oh and don't even get me started on the grammatical errors in that quote- my left eye is twitching over it.

Something that really irked me was when Tampa Bay player, I mean Acadamy Award nominee Lecavalier (the dude who played like the victim for game 5- did you not see that performance he gave out?), was that his helmet flew right off his head. Don't people do up their helmets? My brother says to me, "I don't wear my helmet fully done up- there is always some loose strappage". Then what the heck is the point of wearing a helmet? Lecavalier was maybe too cool to do up his helmet for the game. Don't cry wolf and fall to the ground in a heap of whatever if you aren't even trying to properly protect yourself. That's just dumb.

So should the Flames bow down and face the facts that the booed-out ref from game 4, Fraser, will be playing the same game in game 5 or keep fighting hard and hope for the best? I think it is safe to assume our team is going to do everything, absoloutely everything in their power to bring Mr. Stanley home proud and full of champagne for all the fans to take part in.

Those American NHL high paid goons should go back to playing golf and let our game be played the way it should be.
