Oooooh I sparked some debate!

My beautiful friend Allison Whittingham wrote in this morning:

Okay...you sure got my goat going after reading your latest post in regards to the suspension hand out to Niemenen and the whole perspective of the NHL and refereeing. I won't go into it, but would love to debate it with you at some time. Just put it this way, the public outcry along with Sutter's to me is a total joke and full hypocrisy. Niemenen is a repeat offender who is often guilty of checking from behind and I feel that the suspension is justified, no matter if Lecavalier was hurt or not. Don't get me wrong, I don't care for Lecavalier, but still, Ville was in the wrong and it was a stupid act on his part. And for Sutter to come out and publicly declare that it is an American versus Canadian thing is cheap. Maybe it will fire up his team, however save those comments for after the series and don't take away from the good hockey and efforts being displayed by the players. The public and others are taking away from their achieve ments to date.

Now, enough of that for I could honestly debate that issue along with refereeing for a long time.

Nieminen hit Lecavalier in the back of the head. If they had done that to Iginla we'd be going apeshit.

If we lose the cup because of one guy or over one goal then that's more of a flaw in our game than a goalie conspiracy. The Canadian Women's team was getting dozens of totally ridiculous and sometimes not even in-the-rules penalties at the 2002 olympics and they still scored 3 goals.

So tonight let's hope they win 6-1 with 55 minutes of penalty time, two game ejections, and a declaration by president Bush that Canada is part of the Axis of Evil.

Canadian Girls know how to kick ass, now it's time for the Canadian boys to do the same.
