There is a specific section on the Sacrament of Communion, and the utterly sacred regard in which Catholics hold the Holy Eucharist.

While you were in error in believing you could recieve Communion, it was an innocent one. The greater error lay with the priest, who should have taken the time to explain to you what the Eucharist means to us as Catholics, and answered any questions you may have had.
