bamboo = sequestering carbon from the atmosphere one stick at a time

Ahhhh Wednesday. Not sure why it's called "Hump Day" actually. It has always made me cock my eyebrow in one way or another. Like, seriously, hump day?

So, I am a bit of a media whore, always gawking at what's going on in the world, erm, the US. It's been boggling my mind reading about Hurricane Rita. They have displayed pictures of people and their kids walking along the beach, with like 10ft waves in the background. Now, do they think they're invincible? Hm... no. People amaze me - a true survival of the fittest, and smartest. Now that the hurricane has hit a category 5 - maybe people will get the fuck out of dodge and run for their lives. Or, for some, bust out the surfboard and enjoy a couple turns. Remember, global warming is a myth and nothing that humans do to the planet has any effect on our environment so I guess enjoy the waves while you can.

Speaking of turns, snowboard season is upon us and hot dog am I ever nervous. Last year I ended up going twice (once to COP and once to Sunshine) and I was actually pretty stoked with my attempts at being Warren Miller. This year though, different crowd of people I'm traveling with, all of whom are superstars and will probably end up just leaving me in a mound of snow, left to fend for myself and make it down the scary run by myself. I think I heard somewhere by someone that you "don't take your girlfriend on a powder day". AKA - Megan's not going boarding with Scott this year.

Happy Hump Day.
